On Top of the World

Some views from the Shilthorn which is 2,970 meters high. From the top you can see the Titlis, Jungfrau, Mönch, Eiger, over the Bernese Alps and the Jura mountains up to the Vosges Mountains and the Black Forest. In winter this is the traditional start for the world's longest down hill ski race called the "Inferno" which started in 1948. In the summer the Inferno Triathlon finishes here after a run up from the Lauterbrunnen valley.

Supposedly, it takes about 5 1/2 hours to hike up here.

So cold and yet so beautiful looking. I love the match or the picture and the map. Thank you.
